A rose is a flowering plant that is part of the genus Rosa, which is in the Rosaceae family. There are more than 300 species and tens of thousands of cultivars of roses. Roses come in hundreds of colors, including pure white, yellow, pink, orange, red, lavender, plum purple, burgundy, and yes, even green, and everything in between. Some blooms are bicolored or multicolored, and some have a picotee, a colorful reverse, or smoky or silvery overtones.
